Harold A. Ellis, Jr.
Managing Principal, Ellis Partners, LLC
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Melanoma Therapeutics
Foundation
Harold Ellis is the President of Ellis Partners LLC. Formed
in 1993 and based in San Francisco, Ellis Partners is a developer
of and investor in office, industrial, retail and mixed use
real estate projects located in the Western United States.
Prior to forming Ellis Partners, Mr. Ellis was the co-founder
and CEO of Grubb & Ellis Company, a global diversified
real estate service company with offices in all the major markets
in the United States. Grubb & Ellis is one of the largest
firms in this industry and is listed on the New York Stock
Exchange. Mr. Ellis left Grubb & Ellis in 2002 and co-founded
Ellis Partners in 1993.
Mr. Ellis has spent his entire business career in the real
estate industry and is recognized as a leader in the industry
having served on the boards of several real estate related
companies and various industry associations.
Mr. Ellis graduated from the University of California at
Berkeley and received an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School
of Business.

Sally Park
Executive Director of the Melanoma Therapeutics
Foundation and Member of the Board of Directors
In addition to serving as the Executive Director of the Melanoma
Therapeutics Foundation, Sally Park is the founder/owner of
Sage Solutions Llc., a consulting firm which helps small and
medium sized business accelerate growth by defining and implementing
revenue growth strategies, building market awareness and expanding
marketing reach, streamlining service delivery processes, planning
events, and providing tools to measure results. Clients range
from established Professional Services firms to Wellness Centers.
Prior to launching Sage Solutions, Ms. Park worked in Senior
Management roles for Systems Integrators and Management Consulting
firms including M Squared, Inc. and Accenture.
Ms. Park earned her BA in Economics from University of California,
Berkeley, and is active with many health related ventures and
boards, with a foundational knowledge in yoga and meditation
instruction, and their beneficial impact on health and wellness.

Nils Behnke, Ph.D.
Member of the Board of Directors of the Melanoma
Therapeutics Foundation
Mr. Behnke is a Partner in Bain & Company’s San
Francisco office. He is a member of the firm’s global
healthcare practice and an expert on biotechnology and specialty
pharmaceuticals. At Bain, Mr. Behnke serves biotech and pharma
clients on a variety of topics, including portfolio, licensing
and acquisition strategies and processes; R&D process optimization,
discovery and development services and capability sourcing;
product and franchise full potential (clinical development/positioning)
and commercial optimization (including re-launches, sales force
sizing/effectiveness, pricing strategies); and performance
improvement (revenue enhancement, cost reduction, organizational
and process optimization).
Besides pharma and biotech companies, Mr. Behnke has consulted
clients in other sectors of life sciences, including diagnostics,
discovery and development services, specialty drug providers
and biotech/pharma investors.
Mr. Behnke joined Bain in early 2004, after having spent four
years as CEO of a biopharmaceutical company focused on oncology.
In this capacity, he managed the product development of a monoclonal
antibody through phase I/II as well as the outlicensing of
the antibody to a pharma partner for phase III development.
Mr. Behnke has four years of prior consulting experience as
an Engagement Manager with McKinsey’s Pharmaceutical
and Medical Products Practice.
He holds a Ph.D. magna cum laude and an M.A. (ranked first)
from the University of Cologne in Germany.

Frank
McCormick, Ph.D., F.R.S.
Member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Scientific
Advisory Board of the Melanoma Therapeutics Foundation
Dr. McCormick is the Director of the University of California,
San Francisco (UCSF) Comprehensive Cancer Center, designated
by the National Cancer Institute (NCI, part of the National
Institutes of Health) and Cancer Research Institute, a multidisciplinary
research and clinical care organization that is one of the
largest matrix cancer centers in the Western United States.
A native of Cambridge, England, Dr. McCormick received his
B.Sc. in biochemistry from the University of Birmingham (1972)
and his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Cambridge
(1975). Postdoctoral fellowships were held in the U.S. at the
State University of New York at Stony Brook and in London at
the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. He has been a Fellow of
the Royal Society since 1996.
Prior to joining the UCSF faculty, Dr. McCormick pursued cancer-related
work with several Bay Area biotechnology firms, including positions
with Cetus Corporation (Director of Molecular Biology, 1981-90;
Vice President of Research, 1990-91) and Chiron Corporation,
where he was Vice President of Research from 1991-92. In 1992
he founded Onyx Pharmaceuticals and served as its Chief Scientific
Officer until 1996.
Dr. McCormick's current research interests center on the fundamental
differences between normal and cancer cells that can allow
the development of novel therapeutic strategies. In addition
to his position as director of the UCSF Cancer Center, Frank
McCormick holds the David A. Wood Distinguished Professorship
of Tumor Biology and Cancer Research in UCSF's Department of
Microbiology and Immunology. Dr. McCormick is the author of
more than 243 scientific publications.
